Olivers: Olive Egger Juveniles & Adults

a Flower Feather Farm flock

Olive Eggers are a cross-breed of a blue egger and a brown egger and will lay eggs in various hues and shades of olive green, frequently with speckles.

What makes my Olivers special is the birds I chose to start the flock with. Often, Olivers are a cross between Black Copper Marans and Ameraucanas. The black in the Black Copper Marans is dominant, so the flock is usually black and, to my eyes, boring. My roosters are crosses between Cream Legbars for interesting feathering and the blue egg gene, and Gold Creole Marans for more interesting feathering and the brown egg gene. The ladies are either Splash BBS Ameraucanas or Whiting True Blues, all of which lay a blue egg.

Pictures of the Chicks can be found in the Olive Egger Chicks listing. Pictures are not of actual birds available today, as that changes too often.
